Move in 2010 from S. Carolina to Georgia

Upon my many 2010 adventures one which one I had not anticipated on was moving. I moved from S. Carolina the week-end of Oct.29-31. I have enclosed a few pictures of the transition so please overlook the mess. This was a BIG deal for me. I had never moved in my life, had lived in the same place since March 1985. I am slowly adjusting to Georgia; however, I am still a Carolina girl just temporarily living in Georgia. I will post soon pictures of the house as we are still finalizing things such as decor in the master bathroom, kitchen, and computer room (office).

my room - I love the fact that I have a bigger room :)
my room was originally done in John Deere in S.C.
so I transferred it to Georgia for a while longer jst to get use out of it.

White Christmas 2010

Please forgive my slackness. It has been crazy around here the past few days.
I have been dreaming for the past 25 years and finally my dream became reality. I, like many others in the Carolinas, Georgia and along the East Coast was priviledged to see a white Christmas after 47 years. I could not believe me eyes when I saw it falling from the sky on Christmas Day evening. I had a good Christmas. On Christmas Eve, my dad's twin sisters and their husbands came down from S. Carolina for lunch and visited for a while. On Christmas Day, we (myself, mom, and dad) went over to my grandparent's house to dinner with my Grandpa, Granny, my mom's youngest brother, and his son and oldest daughter. Later on Saturday night around 10pm, my mom's oldest sister and her husband and daughter arrived from Virginia.

about 4 inches of snow.

the right side of the house. The house was built back
in the 1960s. The building located behind the house
is the garage.

Christmas finalization

Today, December 23rd is a very busy day here in the Davis house; we are finishing up all the last minute things before my dad's two sister's and their husbands come down tomorrow. I have much to finish from putting up laundry to wrapping the last few presents and putting a bookshelf together. They are calling for snow in SC and North-eastern Georgia approximately 2-5 inches on Christmas Day! We have not had a white Christmas since 1963, which was definitely WAY before my arrival to earth, ha ha! Like I always say, "I will believe it when I see it!"

Christmas in the air

I apologize for not writing sooner, I have been extremely overwhelmed with school being I had finals last week. It is hard to believe that I started yesterday (12-13) my last semester of my first year. These past 6 months have flew by like a jet. Things are looking more and more like Christmas every day. I am ready for it to come; however, I still have a little shopping left to do. My house is starting to look festive for Christmas. My mom has been doing some baking for our neighbors. We will deliver them soon and meet everyone since we haven't done so upon moving in back in October, we stay quite busy with work and trying care of the grandparents. I am slowly beginning to like it here, but it is still going to take quite a while for me to call Georgia, my home state if I ever will. I will forever be a Carolina girl! I am excited about the 2 week winter break from school during the Christmas holiday and I am also off work. I hope to get some things done like hanging pictures, sort clothes, and finish arranging my room. With working 10-11 hours daily and coming home doing school work 2-4 hours per night, just does not allow me time to do all that I wish to do. Just is never enough time in a day to complete everything. I plan to post pictures soon of the house. It is not like we want it, but we are still working on it. There are some minor things needing to be done. We have trees for the first time ever, and I am NOT a fan of the leaves since I park under them. I will be glad when they have all fallen off, so I will not have to clean my windshield every morning.
This past weekend was not such a good one in our household. We all were sick with some sort of stomach bug, it started first with my mom, who then so kindly gave it to me, and I kindly gave it to my Dad who was already sick with something similar to the flu. We are better from that, but my Dad is still trying to get over a cough.
I thought I lived in the deep south, but here lately have been having second thoughts its been quite cold to be the South. It is currently 24 degrees at 11:05pm and still decreasing with the expected low to be a teeth chattering 19 degrees. Though no snow has been in the forecast; however, some folks have saw flurries with no precipitation. If it is going to be this cold, I wish it would just snow and be done with it instead of torching us with these freezing frigid temperatures.

Finally Friday

The week started out in November and has ended in December! The signs that Christmas is nearing is noticed more daily especially with the temperature being colder. It has been a good week; however, I am still feeling under the weather but much better than last week. I have been so overwhelmed this week with school finals nearing next week. It is ridiculously insane that I am nearing my first year of school, it just seems like yesterday was June and was starting my first semester. I am stoked about the 2 week break from school which is definitely much needed! Life is treating me well, I am just enjoying the ride and living in fast forward. I am feeling a bit itinerant since my trip to Boston a few months back. It is best we live each day to its fullest because we are never promised tomorrow. My life's motto is Live, Laugh, Love! Thanks for reading like always stay tuned for more is sure to come. Good night!
